I am surprised at the way drugs and alcohol are classified, it’s like saying “how serious would you like your heart attack to be?” When I was a using addict I would have thought “great” if they say it’s alright it must be true. “They”, being those in the position of power.
Classifying chemicals gives a message to society, and young impressionable kids that it is acceptable to use drugs like Ecstasy.
The problem is that in this current economic climate, any excuse to justify drug taking will lead to an avoidance of the larger issue at hand. It is just a way of escaping the reality that we are in difficult times.
There is too much emphasis on external fixes such as drugs, money, and prestige and not enough effort put into the community. We have become isolated selfish and greedy.
So I tell you what, let’s lower the classification of drugs so we can continue to deny the existence of the destruction that drugs cause to the planet and every human being who happens to inhabit this earth. TYPICAL!"
