Trust The Process has developed a pathway to employment for clients who show commitment to a career with them, progressing from volunteering through to part-time, then on to full-time, employment.

This month, Steve Bartlett was appointed as caretaker. He volunteered at the centre after graduating. Steve is one of six former Trust The Process clients who are now in paid employment at the Luton and Warrington centres.

Steve was treated for addiction at Trust The Process in Luton in 2007. His role as caretaker involves maintaining the Luton housing, carrying out general maintenance, decorating and gardening works. Steve is working under the management of the Housing Director, Suzanne Peak.

Vanda Carvalho was treated for addiction at Trust The Process and since her graduation from the treatment programme, she pursued her educational and professional goals.

Vanda said: "When I started treatment, I was inspired by what more advanced peers were doing. The counselling team gave me immense support to pursue my education and career goals. After treatment, I started volunteering at the centre and took some learndirect courses. I am now in paid employment at Trust The Process Counselling and my aim is to become a fully qualified counsellor."
