Trust the Process Counselling the Wirral has been commissioned by Wirral DAAT to deliver a Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service to Wirral residents aged 18+. We provide psychosocial interventions based on the '12 Step' recovery model to enable clients to live free of drugs & alcohol and all the negative personal & social consequences of long term substance misuse. It is widely recognised that parental substance misuse is a serious social problem, requiring interventions that consider the needs of the entire family. In order to support long term recovery for drug & alcohol clients. We compliment current substance misuse services by working with clients who have recognised that controlled or substitute use of substances is not their long term aim. We take self referrals and referrals from other agencies including probation, social care & health, GP, hospital, housing etc. We have forged great working relationships with Wirral Drug service & Arch initiatives supporting clients who wish to work towards abstinence. TTP has helped open pathways for Wirral services to work together as an integrated system. This is invaluable to help our client group as all services are aware of the individual's journey. We provide holistic therapies, educational training, we also empower people to take action in partnership with the health professional caring for them and help take control of their own health & treatment to make appropriate use of health services and become more empowered. We have developed a relationship with the local police force who supply use with bikes from there lost property department we make these bikes road worthy which enables us to provide transport for our client group while they are engaged in treatment. We also do outreach work where we go into Bail hostels & the local YMCA promoting Trust the Process. We attend the CDT on a Thursday morning to promote abstinence to service users picking up their methadone prescription & attend Birchwood Detox centre on a Thursday afternoon to offer the structured support we have available at our day centre after they have finished their Detox.
